Purple Teardrops I Cry..

As I am now on summer break, I've decided to foray into the blogosphere. If you are the skilled reader, you might infer from the title of my blog that I am prone to rambling. This is not to say that my ramblings are meaningless, but rather that I can ramble on almost any topic, and probably will do so in this blog.
Without further ado, post #2-

Lately I've caught myself obsessing over certain female celebrities or the characters they create. I find myself so inspired with these women that I've created a list of muses, in order to find inspiration when I find myself lacking. I will speak about one of them now. LADY GAGA. Yes, I know she has been on the scene for a while now, and is getting muchos muchos airplay on MTV, but I haven't blogged in a while, so give me a break!!

Lady Gaga is fabulous. She has skillfully created a persona that is different from anything else the world had seen. Credits to my brother Dylan on this one, as he introduced me to Gaga a few months before she had any followers at all. He boasted of her talents as if he were a proud grandfather- "she went to tisch!!" / "she writes all of her own music!!" / "she crafts her own clothes!!" / "christina augilera is copying her and it's enough already!!!"
I immediately saw what the fuss was about. Obviously I'm all about artistic integrity and whatnot, but as I'm a fashion focused little biddy I'm clearly drawn to the wardrobe of Ms. Gaga.
We all know she seldom wears pants, can be found sporting large black sunglasses, and a fierce blonde coif but being a mini-gaga is not the point. As much as I secretly wish to be. Gaga inspires the artist in all of us to create a persona for ourselves which wholly represents the true person within. We should all aspire to be as inspired as Lady Gaga, and as fearless with our own self-expression. And if you have not yet checked out her latest CD "The Fame," get on that immediately! OR for some serious entertainment, check out her newest video for the song, "Paparazzi" and see exactly what I mean by Gaga being unlike anyone else.

Here's to keeping your eyes open for inspiration, and staying true to yourself,
Lizzy

  1. At 20 you may think you know a lot, but just wait until you are 30. You'll realize that you didn't know anything at 20.

Then at 40 you'll realize you didn't know anything at 30. And then... on and on.

    :-) Cute blog.
